Journey to KL (photos)

The Final Decision!

After a long walk and gathering info around KL city, we decided to choose Rapid KL bus as our main purpose!

Why?!

It's a local bus line which is capable to be introduced to tourists~ because, it is cheaper than the hop on hop off bus that we mention before. It cost only RM2 for Rapid KL and RM38 for the hop on hop off bus. the duration of the availability is even longer, it serves from 6am to 11pm, the hop on hop off bus only serve 8:30am to 8:30pm. Within RM2, we can ride for the whole day! we can even choose the destination.

conclusion, we are bringing out the Rapid KL line, so the tourists can save their budget, and enjoy traveling around KL city!

so stay tuned for our multimedia design work! peace out! :D

The Concept is Born!

well? how's the field trip comrade? not bad eyy? =)
finally we have gathered around and stomp KL city with our cameras and observation.
my teammate was brave enough to ask some pass by tourist (the main target audience), and the answer from them was really out of my expectation.

"sorry, we're in a hurry" , "nope" , smile and walk away~ those are the answer and reaction from them. clearly they like to walk around KL city with their own legs, with their loves one, or even walk alone! never mind that, we still keep on walking from Time Square till' KLCC.

along the way, we observe, and found out that there's a lot of nice ambiance bus stop were build. mostly stereo type, which have the same design of the seat and such, but yeah, some of the bus-stop really had it done with it. ambiance of bank, insurance company, car company and etc.

never that, the worst is, inside KL city, most of the stops we thought is for bus stop, but mostly, yeah, it is taxi stop!

from that, I converted our ideas and concpet doing our group project on bus stop. beside only choosing bus stop, we choose the name KLStop! why? because "KL is an urban city that never stop". that's it! :D

we gonna show that there's a lot of stop where public transport can arrive and take part!
and so, the research and ideas keep on going. . .

The Unexpected Journey

Our target audience are the foreigners or tourist, so, we expect to find foreigners using bus stop in KL, but unfortunately, we found none of them using bus stop in KL, except "Hop On Hop Off" buses that take them around KL. We also found that most of them prefer to walk than to ride a bus.

So, we decided to guide them to use "Rapid KL" instead of walking and Hop On Hop Off. Compare to the Hop On Hop Off, the ticket price for Rapid KL is more cheaper (which is RM2.00 only for Rapid KL rather than spending RM30.00 for Hop On Hop Off). Moreover, with Rapid KL, the tourist can also choose the place where they want to visit. Walking might save their budget, but they are actually wasting their time, so, for just RM2.00, should be no problem for tourist; they can save their times, and enjoy their visit to a lot more places rather than just a few places, if they are walking.

The Journey to Kuala Lumpur

We all went out to do a visual research and snap some pictures related to our topic, bus stops in center city.
Started walking from Times Square to KLCC and tried to take pictures as much as possible!
We noticed our target audience, tourists, they usually prefer walking or in some case take taxi rather than using city buses.
There is one bus company focusing on tourists' need and provided a good, clean and neat environment for them to enjoy the attractions around city. Have you ever heard about Hop on - Hop off ?? That's what I just talked about.

We are aware of this service around city for tourists yet we want to encourage our audiences to use local bus service, Rapid KL. It is cheaper and the availability of the bus is longer too.

On our way from Times Square to KLCC, we tried to ask tourists whether they have ever used local bus in Kuala Lumpur or not, was it easy and comfortable to use or not... But they ignored to reply! (maybe they were told not to talk to anyone!!) So, we started observing them and it was quite obvious they prefer to be on foot rather than local bus lines.
Another thing we noticed was that taxi stations are slightly more than bus stations! Maybe that is another reason tourists are not using bus!

After all, we finished our journey at KLCC and started discussing about the next! We printed out lots of pictures that we took to paste in our individual sketchbooks.
I shall post some pictures here later on.
Be waited...

Decision!

my apologize for delaying the group, and I can't use my sick moment as an excuse.
but still! as the name of the team leader, I've pack up and lead my team to the right track!
with info I've gathered from others, we decided to do the project with bus-stop.
the concept was like, "KL city is an urban city that never stop down", so, haha, that's what make us come with this idea, not bad huh? :)

with out wasting any time, me and my teammates gonna stomp down KL city and do some photo shooting (around the golden triangle, Time Square, Pavilion and KLCC) on 11 of December, let see what will happen that day~

The Team is Born!

Since the beginning of time, which written on the stone, from Iran, together with one Malaysian, one "wanna-be-Japanese" Chinese Malaysian, combined the strength of graphic design ideas and joy, the team of 3 students, Farnaz, Joseph and Syafiq is born!

Three students from KBU International College, Bandar Utama, working under a group project, which focusing on bus stops, at first. The idea began with "you sit and wait while you swing", just like another those of Ikea's concept for promoting their furnitures by putting them in the bus stops around the city. But! after some further discussion with the lecturer, "the guardian", Ms. Yee Von objected, because, the brief was to bring out KL city itself, not to come out with a concept or some selling ideas. =/

so, further research and developments will continues . . .
